The company builds computer-vision sensors and software for metal recycling yards. Its products help operators assess incoming loads, detect potential pricing errors, and manage material. The team is scaling deployments across the United States.

About the Role

As the first dedicated Infrastructure Engineer, you will own the cloud and operational foundation for a sensor product deployed at customer sites. You will work across production services, deployment pipelines, GPU jobs, and a growing fleet of edge devices. This is a hands-on role on a small engineering team.

What You'll Do

Own cloud infrastructure on GCP, including Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, secrets, IAM, and consistent environments.

Build CI/CD pipelines, Terraform-based infrastructure, and deployment automation.

Set up logs, metrics, alerts, and incident response for production systems.

Manage reliability and cloud costs as the number of customer deployments grows.

Improve observability for Modal GPU jobs and automation for the edge-device fleet.

What We're Looking For

3 or more years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience preferred, with direct ownership of production systems. Candidates with 2 years and strong relevant experience may be considered.

Hands-on experience with GCP or AWS and the ability to pick up new services. GCP experience is preferred.

Working knowledge of Python and Linux.

Experience building or maintaining deployment automation, infrastructure as code, and monitoring.

Comfort taking ownership across a broad stack in an early-stage team.

Experience with Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Google Cloud Storage, Terraform, Docker, or Modal.

Experience operating software across distributed customer sites, GPU workloads, or edge devices.

Experience with Ansible or Tailscale.

Role Logistics

Role Title: Infrastructure Engineer
Work Authorization: Visa transfers, including OPT and H-1B transfers, may be considered.
Location: San Francisco, CA; on-site.
Compensation: $150K-$175K base salary. The company may consider flexibility for an exceptional candidate.
